Lime repointing and stone repairs to listed building

Amici Developments recently carried out specialist lime repointing and stone repair works at The Granary — a beautiful listed building requiring sensitive and expert restoration.

As with all heritage properties, the focus was on preserving the original character while ensuring the structure remains protected for years to come. The existing mortar joints had deteriorated over time, so we carefully removed defective areas before carrying out traditional lime repointing using appropriate methods and materials.

Our team also completed a series of stone repairs, addressing weather damage, cracks, and surface erosion. Where necessary, we sourced matching stone to ensure any replacements blended seamlessly with the original fabric of the building.

Every detail was handled with care and respect for the history of the property. Our conservation-led approach meant all work adhered to listed building regulations, with minimal disruption to the surrounding structure.

The result is a beautifully restored exterior that not only enhances the building’s appearance but also improves breathability, durability, and long-term protection.

The Granary project is a strong example of Amici’s expertise in working with listed and heritage buildings. We’re proud to play a role in preserving the architectural legacy of historic properties — combining traditional skills with modern project management to deliver exceptional results.
